20) Rollin' out into the sunlight
Its not very often that I roll the bug out, but it was a nice day! It's also good to inspect everything in the bright sunlight. You can see that I've cut away the lower left door hinge section, and it's all sand blasted. Next, it's time to weld that section in, and start getting this front end all wrapped up!

Pete! It's been a while. Just found your blog link from LinkedIn. Stopping over to say hi. Nice bug!
Hi pete. Love the work your doing it looks first class. I have a 1302 and would like to do much the same with an impreza engine. Did you buy a complete car or just the engine and bits. Keep up the good work Brad
Hey Brad, thanks! I was lucky enough to have a complete car that I could spend time disassembling (Thanks Dave!). I was able to extract the entire wiring harness, and all engine bits that are found bolted to the engine bay. After doing this, I would assume that getting an engine from a junk yard, or JDM importer should be a really good start. Just make sure it has all of the electrical connections, and accessories that come with the engine. (ECU, alternator, ignightor, air intake system, vacume solenoids, etc...)
